Our private pneumonia vaccination offers protection against strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae—a key cause of pneumococcal pneumonia. This one-off vaccine provides long-lasting protection and can be given at any time of year. No annual boosters are required.

What is pneumonia?
Pneumonia is a serious lung infection that can affect anyone. It spreads through coughs and sneezes. Each year in the UK, around 5–11 in every 1,000 adults are diagnosed with pneumonia.†
Who is the service suitable for?
This service is available to adults aged 18 and over.*
It may be especially beneficial for people who:
Are aged 65 or over
Smoke
Have chronic conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, heart, kidney or liver disease
Have weakened immune systems
Are travelling to regions with higher pneumococcal infection rates (e.g. parts of Africa or South East Asia)^
If you're eligible for a free NHS pneumonia jab (such as those 65+ or with long-term conditions), speak to your GP. The NHS vaccine differs from the private one we offer.
Who is it not suitable for?
This service may not be suitable if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Are currently receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy
Have had allergic reactions to previous vaccinations
Your suitability will be assessed by our trained pharmacist before the vaccine is given.
